Who we are

Gowanus Projects is a project based initiative founded to foster and support the creative process of artists working primarily in sculpture.

Gowanus Projects provides a unique opportunity for artists to have access to large scale fabrication facility and equipment along with the technical support required to realize a work.

The Artists will develop a concept and fabricate a work or works utilizing a state of the art fabrication facility and a support team of experts in the field.

The Studio comprises a 6,000 square ft metal workshop with 5 axis cnc waterjet cutting machine with a 5' x 10' bed, bending and rolling equipment, dedicated fabrication stations with tig and mig welding in steel, stainless steel, bronze and aluminum. An overhead Gantry Crane to facilitate large works up to 2 ton capacity. As well as polishing and finishing and patina facilities.

The design studio, a 1000 square ft space on the 2nd floor has CAD and Rhino computer design stations, along with 3D resin printing facilities to realize models and maquettes up to 16" in diameter in a variety of resin materials.

Gowanus Projects residence programme invites artists for a 8/12 week residence programme with the goal of realizing a work or works that the artists would not normally be able to realize.
